Sometimes its fun to do things you normally discard (there are plenty in my case). I was going through an article 'Who is driving your car in the management mantra section of the himalayan times perspective, by Kalpana Arora. I disagreed with her article on couple of points and send her feedback with a request to make me clear on the issues in her article (i told you na it was fun).
My mail read this:

hi kalpana,
It was great to go through your article 'Who's driving your car?' under the management mantra of The himalayan times, today.
The story of the real sarathi (your driver) was interesting and matched the content perfectly.
But however i am complaining about the use of the word 'sarathi' to represent two entirely different personnnel, your driver and the CEO of an organization.
Do both have same level of influence to their work force to make a difference. While you say 'in driver's seat', in case of your driver he is actually in the driver's seat in literal meaning. But for the head of an organization it is a metophorical representation as to mean the power and influence he can stir to the organizational success.
So is the use of the word 'sarathi' to represent both of them justified?
I just want to get your actual thoughts.
I am a computer engineer and working on an outsource company and a 'business and management' enthusiast.
thanks for the article.

I had hardly expected a reply (though rabin said there will be a reply). But to my surprise I got it.

Dear Mr Wagley
Thanks for your feedback and response. Thanks also for your complaint-Actually I just wanted to highlight the importance of the person driving the organization-so much so that just the change of one man there brings about a sea change in the organization.
I used my driver's story just to highlight the importance of the person who is in the driver's seat -an actual driver in case of a car and the CEO or whatever his designation may be in case of an organization.
In the ultimate analysis efficiency , efefctiveness , productivity , goal achievement is all dependent upon the manner in which he is leading his people.
You may be a very punctual and dedicated person -however whether you will reach your destination on time and be able to conduct your business effectively is dependent to a large extent on the person who drives your car-if he is not smart and punctual you have had it
Similarly in an organization we may be very dedicated , efficient and capable people -however if the head of the organization is not -despite our good work the organization may not make any headway.
I hope I have been able to clarify my point.
If I have hurt your feelings by comparing a driver and a CEO I apologize -however I think you will understand my point now.
Warm regards

Anyway it was fun.
Moral: If its your creation you got to reply to all the questions. And you get better with the feedbacks (This is not a fable, lol)
